Our Night Optics M-845-2MS, Gen 2+MS 2.8x Night Vision Scopes are military quality. We have seen good D-845 Scopes with performance beginning to approach some Gen 3 Night Vision Scopes. These military surplus scopes are tested at our facility prior to shipping and any units that don't meet our strict quality requirements are sent back to the original manufacturer.
The (2.8x) M845 Gen II+ Mil Spec night vision weapon sights are designed for use with 5.56mm and 7.62mm weapons. The compact, lightweight systems with wide fields of view are particularly suited for acquiring and targeting short and intermediate range targets. Aiming is accomplished with a bore-sighted red dot which is superimposed over the target.
The M845 housing is constructed from high tensile metal and contains a purge valve for back-filling with dry nitrogen.
Operation is controlled by a simple ON/OFF knob with three position for reticle brightness. Windage and elevation adjustments are made in precise increments.
Pristine optics optimize Gen II+ tube performance providing enhanced target acquisition and engagement. Produced by Litton and acquired from surplus stock, each M845 Mark II is in mint condition and complies with all original Mil Spec standards. These are real military quality scopes that are designed and built for quality and performance - not just to meet a price point like many Generation 2 products.
We are currently equipping our M-845 Scopes with Quick Release mounts for no extra cost. These throw lever type mounts allow you to easily and securely attach the scope to your Weaver mount or Picatinny rail. You can remove and reattach the scope in seconds without loss of zero, allowing you to use these great scopes as a hand held observation device!
Note: These scopes are powerful enough and designed to be used "Passively" without the need for extra Infrared Illumination, as would be used in a combat environment. However, if you would like to have IR illumination to use in conjunction with your scope please contact us at 1-800-771-6845 and one of our experienced night vision staff members can advise you on how to easily mount a Long Range IR Illuminator directly to your rifle of choice.

Title: Hog Terminator
I could not afford a gen 3 scope like three of my buddies have but herd how good these M-845 night vision scopes were. One of my biggest concerns was the 2.8x magnification compared to the 4x on the scopes that my friends have. This turned out not to be a problem and may actually be an advantage. When I compared them side by side it was actually very hard to tell the difference and my field of view is wider than 2 of the Gen 3 scopes. The M-845 scope is lighter and a little faster with the red dot reticle so for running hogs it is great. As far as how far and well it sees in the dark compared to the Gen 3's, I can come surprisingly close to 2 of their scopes with not quite as much brightness and a little less range but for half the price I have almost the same capability as they do. The one Gen 3 model is quite a bit better, but it cost about $4500. Comparing cost to performance I would highly recommend this scope for hunting hogs or anything within 175 yards. It's a big step up in performance from most Gen 2 scopes due to it's military quality and can even keep up with many Gen 3's. Great scope.

Title: Great Scope
This night vision scope is great for hog hunting. Got 5 hogs my first week! Easily mounted on my AR-15. Very bright with range to at least 150 yards or more. Very easy to use with a nice red dot for aiming that you can adjust brighter or dimmer depending on the night. It is a bit heavier than a regular scope but then again a regular scope can't see in the dark LOL. Looks and feels like military quality and I'm glad I spent a little more to get a good one.
