The RIX STORM S3R V2 is a compact, high-performance thermal imaging riflescope , the V2 model significantly upgrades the original Storm series' thermal sensitivity, display resolution, on-board storage, and laser ranging capabilities. It is designed primarily for close-to-medium-range hunting, offering a highly sensitive thermal core alongside advanced ballistic integration.
Core Imaging & Performance
• Thermal Sensor: Features a 384x288 resolution, 12-micron sensor operating at a smooth 50Hz refresh rate.
• Ultra-High Sensitivity: Upgraded to a sub-15 mK NETD rating (a 40% improvement over the V1), drastically improving target-to-background separation in poor weather or low-contrast conditions.
• Optical Magnification: Retains a native 3.5x base magnification, making it highly effective for close-quarters shooting up to a 200–250 yard effective hunting range.
Display & Hardware Upgrades
• AMOLED Display: Upgraded from the older 1024x768 screens to a highly detailed, 0.49-inch 1920x1080 AMOLED internal display.
• Laser Rangefinder (LRF): The built-in LRF distance has been extended by over 60%, tracking distances up to 2,187 yards with specialized rain and fog algorithms.
• Ballistic Calculator: Includes real-time onboard ballistic math that projects automatic aiming guidance directly onto the screen based on shooting conditions.
• Ergonomics & Rail: Features a redesigned mounting rail that is roughly one inch longer and half an inch higher to better accommodate bolt clearance on bolt-action rifles. Eye relief has also expanded slightly to 52mm.
Media & Electrical Specs
• Expanded Storage: Internal memory has doubled from 32GB to 64GB to hold significantly more captured media.
• Enhanced Video: Photo and video recording resolutions are bumped up to a clearer 1744x1072 format.
